About LACONI

The Library Administrators Council of Northern Illinois (LACONI) began in 1954 with library directors gathering for continuing education and networking programs. The idea was to introduce library staff to new technologies and ideas, best practices, and popular programs for adults and children.

HELP Directory

The Highly Effective Library Presenters Directory (HELP) is a joint effort between the YSS and POP sections of LACONI. We felt there was a need to replace the former Best of the Best (Adult) and Harvest of Performers (Youth) databases with a new robust, user-friendly site for all age groups. We have volunteered many hours to put the HELP directory together, and it is free to use for both presenters and library programmers. We hope that it will continue to expand to include many presenters in the Chicagoland area, as well as throughout the state and country.

LACONI is a non-profit corporation and operates exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future Federal tax code.
