About The HELP Directory

The Highly Effective Library Presenters Directory (HELP) is a joint effort between the YSS and POP sections of LACONI. We felt there was a need to replace the former Best of the Best (Adult) and Harvest of Performers (Youth) databases with a new robust, user-friendly site for all age groups. We have volunteered many hours to put the HELP directory together, and it is free to use for both presenters and library programmers. We hope that it will continue to expand to include many presenters in the Chicagoland area, as well as throughout the state and country.

While we've checked presenters' references from various libraries, we make no guarantees as to their programs. Additionally, we have done our best to eliminate favoritism: the presenters appear in a random order each time you visit the directory. You may sort, map-out, search, and limit by tags as ways to find the presenters that meet your needs.

If you are library programming staff and would like to recommend a presenter, please send them the link to our application. The application does require a Google log-in to allow for the upload of pictures; a minimum of two references is also required. Once submitted, one of our section members will contact the references before including the presenter in the directory. Again, there are no fees at any time.
