Join LACONI-SAAM for a day long workshop to become certified in Mental Health First Aid. Leave better equipped to identify, understand, and respond to signs of addictions and mental illnesses.

Sertoma Star Services and NAMI South Suburbs of Chicago are co-sponsoring this 8 hour certification course that teaches participants what signs and symptoms to look for in someone experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis, then provides a 5 step action plan on how to assist them and get them to the correct professional help.

The course will be delivered by a certified instructor, following a national curriculum, emphasizing a hope for recovery. Learning is comprised of group discussions, scenario-based activities, shared lived experiences, PowerPoint presentation and videos. Class is limited to 30 participants.
