Join us for a day of dialogue on diverse books, cultural sensitivity and how we can serve our ever changing communities better. This information packed day will include a mini workshop in the morning from ALA’s Office of Diversity on Cultural Competences covering topics such as; what is culture, privilege and how to be inclusive. After lunch we will hear from panelists Joy Triche (President and Publisher Tiger Stripe Publishing) and Amy Koester (Skokie Public Library) on the Our Voices Chicago initiative to learn how to better support diverse books locally.
Light breakfast and networking begins at 9:30 am; the program begins at 10:00 am. Lunch will take place around 12:30 pm and the second half of the program will begin at 1:30 pm. Ending at 3:30 pm.
