In a rapidly-changing world, it’s vital for libraries to advocate for their role in society. Not only do we need to communicate with our patrons, but we also need to make a case with boards, local government, and our broader community.

Our keynote speaker, Courtney Richardson, holds an MFA in graphic design and is a Ph.D student at the University of Illinois? iSchool. She creates visualization projects about African-American history in order to present archival material to the public.

Courtney’s presentation will be followed by a brief overview of how librarian KatieRose McEneely uses dashboards to communicate library data to Rosalind Franklin University’s administration, faculty, and staff.

We’ll also have a short workshop where you can put these concepts into practice, brainstorm with fellow attendees, and learn about no- and low-cost resources to help you tell your story.
